The mission of Herkimer County Community College is to provide a range of students with access to quality, affordable lifelong learning opportunities, foster diversity by attracting students from other countries, states and counties as well as from the local area, offer quality associate degree and certificate programs in response to local and regional needs, facilitate student achievement by offering arts and science degree transfer programs that provide a strong liberal arts and science foundation and applied science degree and certificate programs that focus on specific career interests, offer a variety of innovative technical programs and services to students and the community and provide business and industry training thereby strengthening the economic development of the region and enhancing its position in the global marketplace. The college operates under the authority of the State University of New York and the College Board of Trustees and is sponsored by Herkimer County.
