Sports Watch: Mondoux anchors Maine Maritime defense (Foster's Daily Democrat)

DOVER — Wade Mondoux of North Berwick, Maine, and Noble High School, had a game-high 10 tackles, including eight solo, as the Maine Maritime Academy football team defeated Curry, 48-42, to capture the New England Football Conference championship and qualify for the NCAA Division III playoffs for the first time.

Missing two key components from its thrilling opening-night win, a shorthanded Lake Erie College men's basketball team could not withstand the hot shooting of Saint Joseph's College (Ind.) in a 93-67 loss in the championship game of the Lake Erie Tip-Off Tournament on Monday night at the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic and Wellness Center.
