- The classes that fulfill University requirements have a lower caliber of professors then the classes specialized for your specific major.
- Top-notch professors with expansive professional histories, and the courses are challenging without being impossible.
- I love this school, even though really hard, I feel I learn a lot!
- I'm in James Madison College and the quality of the program is uncontested; I know I am learning a ridiculous amount. The professors that I have encountered are all thought provoking and do not spoon-food people 4.0's.

- Additional reviews of students:
- I have made associates of most of the people I have met. There are always the few that you can't stand though.
- Cannot describe the student body overall, you find all sorta of personalities and backgrounds on campus.
- The students seem nice and friendly, but still with an air about them that says "I'm good, I know it, and I'm not afraid to show it off".
- Very nice people who are genuinely nice and there to help.
- SPARTANS
- Most are pretty nice but many have money so they are the one's who usually act high and mighty.
- Coming from out-of-state, I was slightly worried that people would be closed-minded and unapproachable. I was dead wrong; I've made so many friends by just randomly picking up conversations in the cafeteria, hallway, classes, laundry room, etc. etc. I love the laid-back nature of the students here.
- Not really too sociable outside of the party/bar scenes.
- NICE AND FRIENDLY
- Not segregated and very open to interact with others, help one another out.
- Party and have a good time.

- Additional reviews of faculty:
- Some of the professors are terrible, but the ones that are good are very good.
- Again, the professors range from really great and caring about there students to professors who are only teaching to fund there research and could care less about the students and what they have learned.
- The staff is extremely talented and have been all over the world performing in many famous opera houses.
- Most of the faculty is really there to help you succeed
- Here to help
- very helpful and usually easy to get a hold of.
- The faculty is definitely knowledgeable. Especially if you go to their office hours, they are very willing to go out of their way to help you in understanding the course material.
- Most are very well educated and know their subject teaching
- Local Atmosphere: B+
- Nightlife: B+
- Weather: C-
- Off-Campus Dining: B
- Off-campus Housing: C+
- Additional reviews of town:
- Off-Campus housing is far away and very inconvenient to get to campus. Off-dining is expensive.
- The campus, in the heart of East Lansing, is just minutes from clubs, cafes, and all sorts of cool little shops and restaurants. There's always something happening on or near campus.
- I'm not much of a party person, so what I like to do at night is limited anyway.
- Everything is pretty great.
- East Lansing is a nice little town with loads to do for college students, especially along Grand River Avenue. College students are out in abundance during weekends, and it is definitely a college town. Lansing I've heard is a bit sketchy in some areas, but overall not too bad.
- Diversity: A-
- Guys: B
- Girls: B+
- Athletics: B+
- Safety & Security: B-
- Greek Life: B
- Campus Strictness: C
- Campus Maintenance: B
- Additional reviews of campus life:
- The campus is beautiful and steeped in over 100 years of history. Old buildings, and sprawling open grassy areas abound for study or recreation.
- The only thing that scares me is how many rapings and things close to that happen, but there are a lot of things to us safe too.
- Diversity is definitely lacking here (in comparison to my hometown), even though there is a sizeable international student population. Sports are huge here; the school spirit is abundant like none other. Football games are insane, and our basketball team incites riots (Infamous Cedarfest during March Madness). The guys and girls are definitely good looking, if I can say for myself. There is an unusual amount of fit, slender people, and with 45,000 students on campus there are loads to choose from. The parties are great, but it's harder to find stuff as a freshman (lots of nights wandering and party-hopping). Booze is hugely accessible, not surprisingly. And you will not get an MIP unless you are a belligerent drunk and do something noticeably stupid (or are extremely unlucky). The po-po are out everywhere but if you are smart about it you will not get caught. Greek life is noticeable but not really prevalent. The drug scene is there if you want it, but easily avoidable if you don't. I feel rather safe on campus, but obviously ladies should never walk alone in the dark and should take all the usual precautions.
- Strictness: I don't think the university has any rules/laws that are too harsh.
- Campus Dining: B
- Campus Housing: B-
- Computers: B-
- Facilities: B
- Parking: D+
- Transportation: C+
