- Professional faculty still working in their field = great connections!
- Good program.
- Emerson's philosophy is that students should be taught by professors who are currently involved in the fields of study they teach. However this become a euphemism for "have no actual teaching experience." Many of the teachers have little to no teaching experience which makes it difficult for them to communicate their experience in any meaningful way to students.
- I really love my school, although sometimes I feel like I'm at summer camp, year round.
- Administration Sucks!!!! Financial AID is non existant!!!!
- The professors were elitist and the coursework was poorly organized. "Guest" professors were not interested in teaching.
- Some of the professors are unqualified but the class subjects are fun and interesting, very "new age" subjects.
- Students know the value of a good education and the professors are here to give it to them.
- Some professors were just out there! But in good interest...just not the "norm".

- Additional reviews of students:
- Weird, gay, and rich
- they were okay.
- The students at Emerson are very engaging for the most part. Almost all of them are very determined to succeed and already have experience in their major. This makes for interesting conversation with many students. However some students can take a higher-than-thou perspective when talking about their accomplishments. Also, students seem to regard general education classes as superfluous. They are not particularly curious people and only seem interested in the tools that will help them succeed. This is especially dangerous in the field of journalism, where curiosity is part of the job description.
- Very gay, very liberal, and very rich
- Some are awesome, some are not!
- Very divided by majors.
- Overall stuck up, especially in the film program.
- Self-involved and self-important
- Very different mix of students. Great atmosphere for school.
- A lot of students are very sure of themselves in their desired field, which, although it raises the bar in academic performance relating to that field, it can sometimes create a hostile atmosphere.
- Yes, there are lots of film snobs and pretentious wannabes. But it's bearable.
- Love them!
- Funny.
- Quirky
- Very artsy, but you meet some great people in the end.
- An eclectic group, recognizable on the streets, proud of their weirdness.
- 93% said faculty members are Friendly.
- 81% said faculty members are Helpful.
- 17% said faculty members are Arrogant.
- 12% said faculty members are Condescending.

- 12% said faculty members are Unhelpful.
- Additional reviews of faculty:
- Professional, best you'll find
- In my experience a lot of the teachers seem bemused to find themselves standing in front of class rooms. Many teachers have little to no teaching experience and struggle in trying to communicate with students. Projects are usually poorly directed and standards, in some cases, are surprisingly low. Students are rarely challenged inside the classroom.
- They are professionals still working in their fields, they have great connections and will hook you up if you simply ask.
- For the most part, great teachers...a few who think they're better than they are.
- Passionate
- Great, helpful, very talented.
- They're more concerned with their paychecks and how important they are than with doing their jobs.
- Very helpful. They go out of their way to help the students. The classes are very hands on.
- It's almost half-and-half. Some of the teachers have incredible knowledge of their subject, some know almost nothing. It all depends on the class.
- There are a few straight-up bad teachers. Most are pretty alright. The good teachers, though, are really good. I've had at least 3 really great professors in various subjects in just my first year.
- Some are amazing, some not so much.
- Some are incredible, others clearly hate their jobs.
- Formerly quirky people, now adults
- Very helpful!
- Some a little eclectic in an overenergetic or just plain strange way (I had one that had an English accent, but he was from Denver)

- Additional reviews of town:
- Boston is the best college town EVER
- In Boston so it's hard to find affordable off-campus housing.
- Boston is an amazing town to go to college in. Because it is home to so many colleges the atmosphere is geared towards students. One can always attend lectures or activities at other colleges and having Harvard in close proximity is a great resource for students. One downside to Boston is that it has an early bedtime. Most activities in Boston close around 10 and finding a place to eat or hang out off campus can be a bit of a challenge. Still the upsides outweigh the downsides.
- Boston is a great college town, but of course it's New England so there's the weather factor there. Housing is ridiculously expensive everywhere.
- I love living off-campus in Boston.
- Boston rocks.
- Graduate housing is not provided in any capacity
- Very active nightlife; the school is bookmarking some of the most popular bars and clubs in Boston.
- Right in Boston. It's the city that sleeps, so there's not too much activity after dark. Except for traffic.
- Boston has strict 21 plus rules and apartments are crazy expensive
- I did not go out and I am still on campus, but other reviews say that if you know where to go it can be an "A" experience. A bit chill, however, though because we are by the sea it is not as bad as other places.

- Additional reviews of campus life:
- I don't know what I'm grading guys and girls on.. attractiveness? how many of them are there? what the heck kind of question is that.
- nice school
- Emerson is not a diverse college in any means. It's almost exclusively white and politically left. The female to male percentage is 60-40. The greek and athletic spheres exist but are no way dominant (or really prevalent). As with many colleges the drug and alcohol scene is pretty prevalent but because of activities provided by Boston one can easily avoid the scene should they wish to.
- Emerson is a very clean and well maintained campus. But there isn't much to do on campus. There is almost no greek life and the athletics teams are struggling for survival, although we did just get a new gym built last year - the first one Emerson has ever had.
- The security is a joke, they are extremely unqualified for their position and they know it. I have seen multiple "securitas" sleeping on the job and playing video games or watching their friends' children at the security desks. I don't think they are useful at all.
- It's a liberal arts school. Sports aren't the most popular.
- Our most competitive sport is Quidditch.
