INDIANAPOLIS (KRQE) - The University of New Mexico football program has been placed on probation through 2011, and the NCAA has reduced the number of football scholarships UNM can award.

The NCAA has penalized the University of New Mexico with three years of probation for academic fraud within the football program. The school already had self-imposed some penalties, including two years of probation, after reviewing the coaches' actions
